Russell Anthony “Tony” Siler, age 68

Mr. Russell Anthony “Tony” Siler, of Burkesville, Kentucky, left home to go to his Heavenly home on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee having attained the age of 68 years, 7 months, and 9 days. He was born in Kokomo, Indiana, on Tuesday, September 22, 1953, the son of Martin Scott and Minnie Katherine (Abney-Burnsworth) Siler. He was of the Nazarene faith, a member of Centerpoint Church, attended Kokomo High School, 20 year veteran of the United States Navy working as an Aviation Hydraulics Technician, a part of the USS Kennedy Maiden Voyage, worked at Chrysler Transmissions for 16 years, and his hobbies included travel, gardening, raising worms, bicycling, hiking, golfing, and photography. He loved serving in the military and loved his country, as well as providing housing and food for visiting missionaries and ministers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Siler, siblings, Loma Jo Siler, Jeffery Nelson (Caroline) Siler, Ronald Siler, Larry (Marie) Siler,

He is survived by his wife, Gladys “Lynnette” Siler whom he wed on Saturday, April 24, 2010, and his children, Misti (& Zachary) Dwyer of Milton, Florida, Jolene (& Todd) Siler-Lindberg of Pace, Florida. Step-children, Michael Moore, Brian Moore, Tracy (& Joe) Nelson. Step-son Jimmy (& Angie) Hammond of Fishers, Indiana, siblings, Kathy (& Roger) Andrick of Kokomo, Indiana, Coby (& Victor) Osborne of Kokomo, Indiana, Jolene (& George) Mason of West Point, Georgia, grandchildren, Joseph “J.T.” Williams, Austin (& AmberLynn) Williams, Claudia Lindberg, Sean Lindberg, Jackson Hammond, Parker Hammond, Brooklyn Hammond, great-grandchildren, Macy Williams, Cody Williams, sisters-in-law, Sue Siler of Kokomo, Indiana, Missy (& Trent) Marner of Kokomo, Indiana, In-laws, Jerry (& Vicky) Myers of Kokomo, Indiana, uncle, Russ Siler of Frankfort, Kentucky, aunt, Dee Brunsworth of Kokomo, Indiana, special brother, Todd Montgomery of Burkesville, Kentucky, niece, Emily (& Austin) Myers of, Indiana, great-niece, Oakley Myers of, Indiana, several nieces, nephews, and friends.

A celebration of life service for Mr. Russell Anthony “Tony” Siler will be conducted on Monday, May 9, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. at Centerpoint Church in Burkesville, Kentucky with Bro. Tim Parson, Bro. Jay Damron, and Bro. Nick Sparks officiating, with military honors by American Legion Post #119. The church family and friends will have a meal at 5:00 p.m. at the church, they will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. till the funeral hour at the church. The second celebration of life service will be conducted at a later date at Bon Air Church of The Nazarene in Kokomo, Indiana with Rev. Dennis Riggs officiating. Military honors will be provided by Kokomo V.F.W. Post #1152. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Kokomo, Indiana. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Robert Flowers Jr. and the staff, at Cumberland County Hospital and staff. Tony has many ministries he was compassionate about. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Centerpoint Nazarene Church Celebrate Recovery, or the Tanazia Project, Ky. District NMI, Attn: Bill Meadows, 585 Deerwood Dr., Coxs Creek, Ky. 40013, to build a district center and pastors training. Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky is honored to be in charge of the arrangements.
