Ruth Kay McElhaney, age 67 of Rockwood, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024. She was born on July 2nd, 1957, in Rockwood. She retired after working as an assembler at Jerry’s Bait Shop for a number of years. Her work family became her extended family and she loved them all. Ruth loved spending time with her family and her grandbabies. You would often find her sitting on her porch down in Black Creek. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents: Maddie & Kenneth McElhaney; brother: Ricky McElhaney; sister: Anita McElhaney; nephew: Heath McElhaney; and great nephew: Kolby McElhaney. She leaves to cherish her memory:

Grandchildren: Lexi Clem (Riley), Dalton Monroe

Great Grandchildren: Monroe Clem, Maevery Clem

Brothers: Kenneth, Bo, & Donnie McElhaney

Niece: Candy Harmon, Jenny Harmon

Nephews: Bryon, Michael, Jesse, Donnie, and Wayne

Great Nephews: Jamie McElhaney, Cody Aytes, Dawson McElhaney, and Ricky McElhaney

Great Nieces: Alexis McElhaney, Jayda Burgess

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 5th, 2024, from 12:30-1:30 pm ET at Evans Mortuary in Rockwood. Funeral service will follow at 1:30 pm ET with Bro. David Treadway officiating. Graveside and interment service will follow in the Glen Alice Cemetery in Rockwood. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Ruth Kay McElhaney.
