SCENTED CANDLES RECALLED; FIRE, BURN, AND LACERATION HAZARD

APOTHEKE has issued a recall for their Pumpkin Ginger 3-Wick Scented Candles due to safety hazards. The recall, announced on March 27, 2025, involves approximately 640 units sold in the U.S. and 11 in Canada. The candles, sold exclusively at Crate & Barrel from June 2024 to January 2025 for about $80, pose fire, burn, and laceration risks because the flame can burn too high, igniting the candle and causing the amber glass container to break.

The affected product is a 26 oz. (761 g) white candle in an amber glass container with “APOTHEKE” printed in gold on the front and batch code “CB-240603” on the bottom. Consumers are urged to stop using the candles immediately and contact APOTHEKE at [email protected] or via their website for a full refund, offered as either an online store credit or a check. The candles should be discarded after submitting a refund request.

APOTHEKE has received six reports of high flames, with four causing minor property damage (e.g., singed surfaces) and one resulting in a minor hand burn. Crate & Barrel is directly notifying known buyers. The candles were manufactured in the U.S. by APOTHEKE, based in Brooklyn, New York. The recall number is 25-199.
