Seth Fugate, 31

Seth Fugate, 31 of Oak Ridge, TN
A handsome, thoughtful, caring, well-mannered young man with slipped away from all of us, on February 5, 2005, much too soon. Seth Fugate will be remembered for lifelong dedication to family, friends, animals, and nature. He touched countless individuals throughout all walks of life in his 31 action-packed years. We will sorely miss his charm, quick wit, sideways grin, and entertaining antics.
Born an original thinker, he ever-evolved broad knowledge in a myriad of subjects and possessed unleashed potential. He loved listening to alternative view podcasts, playing interactive video games, and wrote endless lyrical rap journals.
Tall, lean, and athletic interests encompassed outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, all-terrain vehicle exploration, and camping overnight in any season. Seth trekked The East Coast Greenway, encompassing 3,000 miles of open-air, scenic bike views through 15 states (Bangor, Maine to Key West, Florida). He didn’t quite finish but was just as happy spending time alone as he was with his array of allegiant childhood friends.
Other hobbies were weightlifting, crafting meat seasonings, and collecting knives and guns. He had started tracing family genealogy and assembling a legacy photograph timeline tree. Seth never failed to fill requests for handyman assistance and was a great chauffeur for his Granny’s routine casino trips.
Left behind to mourn are Mother Karen E. Yarborough and brother Noah D. Newport of Oliver Springs, TN. Father is David D. Fugate, with 100-year-old paternal grandmother Lorene S. Fugate of Viva Senior Living-Oak Ridge. He is survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, friends (old and new), co-workers/colleagues, and current classmates. He anticipated graduation with Southeastern Area Joint Apprenticeship Committee Boilermakers/Welding certification in April 2025.
He is preceded in death by devoted maternal grandparents Bill and Rita Yarborough, paternal grandfather Kenneth Fugate, and uncles Chris Yarborough, and John Fugate.
