Shawn Stone, 63

Fraker – Shawn Stone, age 63, of Ten Mile, passed away peacefully at his home after suffering for almost a year with tonsil cancer. He also suffered for many years with multiple sclerosis and was a retired auto mechanic. He enjoyed all forms of auto racing, but especially NASCAR and was a devoted Jeff Gordon fan. Shawn loved to fish both on the lakes of California and Tennessee and on the ocean in California and Mexico. He was a gentle soul who loved his family, friends and pets, especially his wonderful dog, Edith. He was always there to support his family and friends with his wisdom and good humor and if you were his friend, it was for life. After moving to Tennessee in late 2019, he was able to enjoy seeing all kinds of wildlife at home along Watts Bar lake with his life partner, Nancy, This included deer, groundhogs, foxes, possum, raccoons, ducks, geese, rabbits, turtles, woodpeckers, herons, egrets, pelicans, blue jays, cardinals and many other types of birds. He enjoyed the wildlife sounds of what he called the Tennessee symphony during the summer twilight hour. Shawn also enjoyed an eclectic selection of rock and roll, country and pop music, both old and new.
He had strong faith in a higher power and loved his country.
Preceded in death by his parents, Phyllis and Robert Stone.
He is survived by his life partner, Nancy Lubinski; sister, Pam Portfield and husband, Scott; brother, Kevin Stone and wife, Anna; brother, Guy Stone; niece, Stephanie Stone; and nephew, Robert Stone.
