Graveside Funeral Services for Shirley Ford, age 82, of Cowan, Tennessee, and formerly of Cookeville, Tennessee, will be conducted on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Arlington of Tennessee Cemetery in Cookeville, Tennessee. Rev. Bobby Floyd will officiate. Ms. Ford was born on Saturday, December 26, 1942, in Putnam County, Tennessee, to the late James and Notie Whittaker Wise. Ms. Ford passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025, at her daughter’s home in Cowan, Tennessee. Ms. Ford retired from Fleetguard with almost 30 years of service. She was a tow motor operator and one of the first female operators. She was a member of Friendship Global Methodist Church. She is survived by, 3 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Eva Ford of Cowan, TN, Twila and James Bilbrey of Bell Buckle, TN, Bendalyn and Amadeo Garmajo of Sparta, TN; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Clayt and Dianne Ford of Monterey, TN; 6 grandchildren, Amanda (Scott) Smith, Matthew (Renee) Phillips, Tyler Ford, Jack Phillips, Laura Bilbrey, and Nathan Bilbrey; and 2 sisters, Theresa King and Annie Burnworth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Ford; daughter, Mindy Ford; and sisters, Lois and Phyllis.
