Wayne County, Kentucky officers responded to a home on Victory Lane Saturday for a shooting. Deputies say 41-year-old Joshua White of Monticello sustained a wound to his leg and was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for further treatment. Several witnesses provided information of the incident including a description of the alleged perpetrator, 44-year-old Ernest S. Baker, also of Monticello. Baker had fled the scene on foot prior to officers arriving but was located soon thereafter and taken into custody. Baker was charged with first-degree assault. He was also arrested on three counts of wanton endangerment stemming from several individuals being in close proximity to White when he was shot. Baker was taken to the Wayne County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing.
