SHOTS FIRED DURING DOMESTIC ALTERCATION LANDS BARNETT IN JAIL

Wayne County, Kentucky deputies went to a home on Shoemaker Lane late last night for shots fired.

The female victim stated her husband, 32-year-old Patrick J. Barnett of Monticello, came home intoxicated, became physically violent, shot at her, and caused damage to their residence. She was able to get to a nearby home to call for help.

Officers located Barnett holding a firearm in his right hand. They were able to disarm Barnett and placed him under arrest without further incident.

The report states Barnett fired twice at his wife as she was leaving the home missing her. There were also juvenile children inside the dwelling and were found safe.

Barnett reportedly followed his wife to the nearby residence and once inside, he supposedly fired the weapon another time missing her by inches.

Barnett was charged with six counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, 4th degree assault (domestic violence enhanced), and one count each of alcohol intoxication in a public place and criminal mischief.
