STEVAN ALVIN CURRIER, AGE 76

Stevan Alvin Currier, age 76, of Harriman, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 19, 2026, with his loving sweetheart of 57 years and his daughters by his side.

Born on January 10, 1950, in Harriman, Tennessee, he was the son of Onnie and Una Currier. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as an infantryman. He was stationed in Germany and served in the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971 with the 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry. His military service reflected his deep sense of duty, strength, and commitment to others. He was honored with the National Defense Service Medal and the Bronze Star.

Following his military service, Stevan attended Knoxville Business College and worked with East Tennessee Trucks, Covington Detroit/Diesel Allison, and Crete Industries. He was known for his strong faith and love for his Lord and Savior. He touched many lives through his dedicated service to his church, serving as a Sunday school teacher and church treasurer for 25 years at Harriman Baptist Tabernacle, where he was a faithful member for 57 years.

Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and loving brother. He cherished time spent with those he loved. He enjoyed traveling, Tennessee football, gardening, and sharing his harvest with neighbors.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years: Debra Currier; daughters: Kimberly Clower and Tammy Harvey (son-in-law Scott Harvey); grandchildren: Taylor Clower Mettica (grandson-in-law Josh Mettica), Caden Lee Stevan Clower, Olivia Harvey Griffis (grandson-in-law Landon Griffis), and Brady Harvey; and his sisters: Martha Hall (brother-in-law Johnny Hall), Karen Crabtree (brother-in-law Jeff Crabtree), and Cathy Smith (brother-in-law Jackie Smith).

He was preceded in death by his parents: Onnie Arville and Una Grace Currier.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to their neighbors, family, and friends for their kind support and encouragement during this time.

The family also wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the University of Tennessee Hospice Care team for their compassionate and tender care. Their dedication and grace during his final days brought great peace and comfort to Stevan and his family.

Serving as pallbearers are Caden Clower, Brady Harvey, Landon Griffis, Josh Mettica, Johnny Hall, and Scott Hall.

Arrangements are under the care of Kyker Funeral Home, Harriman, Tennessee.

A receiving of friends will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m., with the funeral service to follow, officiated by Bro. James Jones, who served as his pastor for the majority of his years at Harriman Baptist Tabernacle. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood, officiated by Ben Whittenbarger, former pastor of North Rockwood Baptist Church. Military honors will be rendered in recognition of his service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
