Steve Ray Gunter, age 61, of Deer Lodge passed away September 9, 2024, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Steve was the youngest of 8 siblings. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, riding horses, woodwork and the list goes on and on. His humor and wit were legendary. He loved and enjoyed life to the fullest. But the most important thing was the love of his life, Donna.

Steve is preceded in death by his mother Margaret Brewster Gunter; father Arthur Gunter; niece Candace Reed; nephew Steven Gunter and brother-in-law Kenneth Fairchild.

He leaves behind the love of his life Donna Begley Gunter; children Danna Gregory, Joshua (Samantha) Gregory, Amie Underwood and fiancé Bill Phillips and Joseph Gunter; grandchildren, Riley Gunter Underwood, Sydney Gregory, Shade Underwood, Jordan Gregory, Katlyn Simmons, Kelsey Phillips; great-grandchild Oaklynn Simmons; siblings Mary Jean Fairchild, James Gunter and friend Loretta, JoAnn Gunter, and friend Richard Cross, Sue and husband, Charles Blevins, David Gunter, Lynn and husband, Larry Smarsh, Francis and husband, Jim Reed and a host of nieces, nephews and extended friends and family. Special thank you to DaVita Dialysis Center in Clinton and a very special nurse Beth “Witchy Poo” Henry for your love and care.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Schubert Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Bro. Charles Webb officiating. Graveside services will be on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in Brewstertown Cemetery.
