STONE MEMORIAL’S TESSA MILLER RUNNER UP FOR TENNESSEE MISS BASKETBALL HONOR

The TSSAA girls state high school basketball tournament concluded Saturday night with the presentations of the Tennessee Miss Basketball awards. Maryville’s Denae Fritz took top honor in Class 3A and runner up was Tessa Miller from Stone Memorial High School.

Miller joined the 1,000 point club as a junior. Overall, she helped Stone Memorial to a 31-4 record and a state finals appearance, while posting a double-double average of 16.4 points and 10 rebounds per contest last season.

She is a three-time All-District Team nominee, three-time All-District Tournament Team honoree and two-time All-Region 3AAA pick. Miller also received First Team All-5-Star Preps honors following her junior year.

Miller also played volleyball in her junior and senior seasons at Stone Memorial, where she was named to the All-District Team and All-District Tournament Team twice. She went on to be named Team MVP by her teammates in both seasons.

She will join the Belmont University women’s basketball program for the 2021-22 season.
