STORIED ROANE COUNTY ATTORNEY, GERALD LARGEN, PASSES AWAY AT 89

The Roane County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that longtime attorney Gerald Largen was found unresponsive in his vehicle near 112 Walton Lane yesterday. No details have been released regarding why the former attorney veered off the road. An autopsy has been ordered, and further information will be provided as it becomes available.
Gerald Largen was a prominent figure in Roane County, Tennessee, known for his multifaceted career and deep community ties. He was a longtime attorney based in Kingston, Tennessee, with a legal practice spanning decades, earning respect as a member of the Roane County Bar Association.
Largen was also a significant landowner and philanthropist, notably donating 112 acres in Roane County to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA). This property, named the McGlothin-Largen Wildlife Management Area, was dedicated in September 2024 in memory of his parents, Martha McGlothin Largen and John Roy Largen.
