Sue Branson Henley, 82

Sue Branson Henley came face to face with Jesus on December 4, 2024. Sue was born April 24, 1942 and has been a lifelong resident of Roane County, having retired from TVA. She was married to Bobby Henley, the love of her life, for 63 years. She loved Jesus with all her heart and was an active member of First Baptist Church in Kingston where she worked on many Kingdom Builder projects helping to build churches in numerous states. God graced Sue to be an artistic, loving and giving woman. Her art can be found in many homes not only in Roane County but throughout the country. Sue loved well all who came in contact with her frequently, gifting many individuals and organizations anonymously, particularly those in need. She volunteered during her healthy years for too many organizations to list, but just a few include reading each week to residents in nursing homes, teaching art in Roane County schools, as a certified CPR trainer teaching CPR for companies as well as driving those who needed transportation. After her health began to fail Sue continued to volunteer from home writing and addressing literally thousands of wedding invitations in her beautiful calligraphy for any bride that asked, gifting others with her hand-drawn note cards and writing notes of encouragement for the “written in love” ministry.

Sue was preceded in death by parents; Bill and Eva Branson, brothers R.W. (Dub) and Bobby Branson, sister Patsy Barnard and infant son Thomas Branson.

She is survived to cherish her memory husband Bobby; children Tracy (Lani) Henley of Rockwall, Tx. and Tina (Randy) Pack of Rockwood; Brother and Sisters Stan Branson, Faye Townsend, Kathy Parks (Tommy) and Beverley Kelley (Al); Grandchildren Victoria (Cassidy) Melhorn, McKenzie Pack, Robert Alexander (Sol) Henley, Austin (Hannah) and Noah Patterson; Great grandchildren; Jackson and Samson Melhorn along with a host of nieces and nephews, church family and lifelong friends.

The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church in Kingston on Tuesday, December 10th,
12P – 2P with a brief service, and then burial immediately following at Rose Cemetery. Reverends Dale Darley and Jody Mcloud officiating. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in memory of Sue to the First Baptist Building Fund, (215 N. Kentucky St. Kingston) Samaritan’s Purse Shoebox Ministry or Hands of Mercy in Kingston. Lastly, love those around you as Sue would and you will be blessed. Kyker Funeral Home of Kingston is serving the Henley Family.
