SUSPECT KILLED DURING KNOX COUNTY DEPUTIES’ SEARCH

Around 7:20 a.m. this morning, Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputies were conducting a search warrant in South Knox County near Sevierville Pike. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the suspect refused to follow orders while law enforcement was attempting to bring him into custody.
The suspect displayed a firearm which prompted officers to fire weapons in turn. No officers were injured, but the suspect was killed.
As is normal whenever an officer fires at a suspect the incident will be investigated by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
