Funeral services for Sylvia Jean (Brannum) Neal, age 79, of Pickett County Care & Rehab in Byrdstown, who passed away Friday, February 1, will be Tuesday, February 5 at 10 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Chapel of Byrdstown, with burial to follow in Smyrna Cemetery. Family will receive friends Monday, February 4, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Chapel. Survivors include a son, Jeff Neal of Byrdstown; a daughter, Jo Ann McWhorter of Albany, Kentucky; eight sisters, Betty Dodson of Sylvia, North Carolina; Joy Lovell of Fulton, Georgia; Violet Freel of Dacula, Georgia; Teresa Melek of Huntsville, Alabama; Jenny Gunter, Cathy and Lynn Choate, all of Jamestown; three brothers, James Brannum of Neosho, Mississippi; Michael Brannum of Jay, Oklahoma; and Ernest Brannum of Byrdstown. She is also survived by six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. The Brown Funeral Chapel of Byrdstown, Tennessee, is in charge of arrangements.
