TBI INVESTIGATING BRADLEY COUNTY DEPUTY ACCUSED OF CHOKING JUVENILE

The TBI is looking into allegations a Bradley County deputy choked a 14-year-old student at the Leaf Academy, a program for at-risk youth.
The staff of the boot camp style academy is made up of officers from the Cleveland Police Department, Bradley County Sheriff’s Office and juvenile court.
The first four hours of the day for students in the program are spent doing physical training. Officials say it was during that time, the boy told the deputy he was physically unable to continue with the exercises. The juvenile claims the officer choked him and then charged him with disorderly conduct.
No further information was released as it is an active investigation.
