TBI TO CHANGE TESTING METHODS FOR MARIJUANA

TBI BEGINS INVESTIGATION INTO MISSING FENTRESS COUNTY FUNDS

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is changing its testing methods for marijuana

The TBI says it will stop testing if someone is caught with less than a half ounce of marijuana, which is only a misdemeanor charge.

The reason is TBI’s testing can be expensive and labor-intensive.

If someone has more than half an ounce, TBI will test the ratio of THC to CBD. If the new test shows a pink color, it is hemp. If the test comes back blue, it is marijuana.

Any tests showing marijuana will be sent for more testing to see if it is above the legal THC limit.

The TBI can still test instances of less than a half ounce if any District Attorney requests it.
