TDOT ROADWAY ACTIVITY REPORT

Motorists are encouraged to use caution and obey reduced speed limits in all work zones, regardless of lane closure activity. Most work is weather dependent and subject to change due to inclement weather. All times listed are local.

Cumberland County
I-40 Resurfacing from MM 306 to just past MM 311: Installation of construction signs will begin the week of April 1. Estimated completion is August 2019.

Peavine Road: Grade work is continuing, with shifts in traffic patterns expected to allow for construction activities. Posted speed limit will be reduced from 45 to 35 mph in the work zone. Temporary lane closures and traffic stoppages may be needed. Lane and/or road closures will be needed for storm drain installation and utility relocation. Alternate routes will be properly identified. Estimated completion is November 2020.

Fentress County
Roadway microsurfacing: Crews are scheduled to install construction signs and remove center roadway marking on SR-52 from east of SR-28 (US-127) to SR-296; SR-154 from north of Louvaine Road to the Pickett County line; and SR-297 from SR-154 to the Scott County line. Intermittent lane closures will be necessary. Obey warning signs and watch for construction equipment in the roadway. Estimated completion is June 2019.

Fentress and Overton counties
SR-85 Emergency slide repairs: The roadway is closed from log mile 18.4 to log mile 22.4 in Overton County. Multiple one-lane conditions exist from LM 3.9 to LM 7.75 in Fentress County. Crews will be installing signs on SR-52 in Fentress County and on SR-85 in Fentress and Overton counties. Work is scheduled to begin early April. Crews will be evaluating the project and hauling in equipment. Existing SR-85 lane closures will remain. Estimated completion is November 2019.

Bledsoe County
SR-101 Bridge repair at LM 8.98: Work is underway. The bridge will be reduced to one 10-foot lane controlled with temporary signals. Phase one of bridge-deck pouring began March 28. The road will be shut down intermittently for 15-minute periods while concrete trucks are unloaded. Traffic will be released between loads until the pour is completed. RESTRICTIONS: 10 foot lane. Estimated completion is September 2019.

Sequatchie County
TDOT Maintenance on SR-111 northbound from LM 1.1 to LM 10.6: Crews will repair cracks along northbound lanes of SR-111 from LM 1.1 to 10.1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 1 and 2. One lane will be closed to seal multiple cracks and repair joints on multiple structures.

Van Buren County
Utility Work on State Highway 30 eastbound from LM 5.07 to LM 5.07: Installation of aerial and buried fiber cable will take place between Rocky River Road and Passons Lane. Signs and flaggers will be onsite; work will be intermittent from 9 a.m. To 3 p.m. through April 17.

Rhea County
Maintenance on SR-302 (Old Stage Road) northbound from LM 1.6 to LM 2.0: Through April 3, crews will be reshaping ditches from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

TDOT Maintenance on SR-68 (Wassom Memorial Highway), both directions at LM 5.5: The roadway is reduced to one lane and signalized 24/7 due to roadway settling.

SR-30 Miscellaneous safety improvements from near SR-443 (LM 4.1) to Maple Creek Drive (LM 7.75): Shoulder closures and possible temporary lane closures will support installation of signage, guardrails, etc. Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.  Estimated completion is July 2019.
