TEMA DECLARES LEVEL 4 STATE OF EMERGENCY
The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) has issued a State of Emergency as they prepare for a winter storm.
Tennessee is currently under a State of Emergency due to the effects of Helene. TEMA says that they will be enacting a State of Emergency separate from the one issued for Helene, one that will be a Level Four alert.
Level Four is associated with monitoring and making sure that supplies are in areas where they will be needed. It’s the lowest level that can be announced.
Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) crews are working to prepare roads, but heavy snow is still expected to cause widespread impacts to travel. They recommend that everyone who can should stay home and off the roads.
Warming centers are open across the state to help those who need it.
