A fisherman in Benton County was stunned over the weekend to see what was on the end of his line at a pond in Camden.

A responding deputy confirmed it was a homemade bomb with a fuse attached.

The report states the deputy tried to shoot it three times to detonate it.

It was deemed too waterlogged to explode.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Authorities did not indicate how deputies disposed of the device.
