TENNESSEE WILDLIFE RESOURCES AGENCY ANNOUNCES 2026 MID-SEASON WATERFOWL HUNT APPLICATION DATES
Hunters looking to participate in Tennessee’s upcoming waterfowl season can mark their calendars. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) has announced that applications for the 2026 Mid-Season (Tier 2) Wildlife Management Area (WMA) Waterfowl Hunts will open next week.
The application window runs from October 21 through November 10.

Where to Apply: Applications can be submitted online via the Go Outdoors Tennessee website, the TWRA mobile app, at TWRA regional offices, or through any authorized TWRA license agent. Mailed applications are not accepted.

Eligibility: Applicants must be at least 16 years old.

Party Rules: Individuals may submit only one application, which can include up to 48 unique hunt choices without repetition. Qualifying parties must consist of four to eight members.
Important Deadlines and Claiming Permits
Successful applicants will be notified via email and must log in to claim their individual permits by November 23 at 11:59 p.m. CST.

Every party member is required to claim their own permit.

Members who miss the claim deadline forfeit their individual permit, though they are still permitted to hunt alongside a permit holder at the blind.

If an entire successfully drawn party fails to claim their permits, the site is forfeited and will be reallocated during an in-person leftover drawing.
Leftover Drawings
For hunters who miss the initial application period or whose parties forfeit their sites, in-person leftover drawings will be held on Monday, December 7, at 6:00 p.m. local time. Specific drawing locations are detailed on page 85 of the official 2026–27 Tennessee Fishing, Hunting, and Trapping Guide.
