Aaron Shane Key, 41, of Hilham, TN, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019, in Overton County, TN.

The law enforcement theory from D. A. Dunaway and the Overton County Sheriff’s Department is that Aaron hung himself in this storage shed on Turkeytown Road in Hilham, Tennessee. Although, Aaron Key’s mother, Lisa Key, begs to differ. She is left with numerous questions and constantly wonders what really happened to her son.

Several people lived in this house at the time of the death and a 911 call mentions a big fight. A 911 transcript says, “Now they are all out here fighting ..there are five people out here.”And there were people leaving the scene before police arrived. “They are all on meth, they have been fighting for the past week out here,” the 911 call says. Aaron did not have any meth in his system and his face had unusual patterns of abrasions, contusions, and lacerations of the eyelids. “They said two-week-old puppies caused blunt force mass trauma to the side of his face,” says Lisa.

Lisa stated “Aaron’s right wrist was broken, the pole was 16 feet high, reach out 4.5 feet, its not possible to tie a slip knot with one hand”

The medical examiner determined the cause of death was hanging. However, he noted there were no hemorrhages or injuries to the neck structure. The hyoid bone often broken during hangings shows no surrounding soft tissue damage. The neck only shows a very minor ligature mark.

Lisa Key has kept evidence from the scene since officials never collected it. She is seeking justice because she thinks her son was murdered.
