Thelma Jean Winningham, 91

Thelma Jean Winningham, 91, of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away on November 20, 2025. Born April 13, 1934, in Wilder, Tennessee to Scott and Ada Threet, Thelma lived a life defined by kindness, compassion, and devotion to others. For 56 years, Thelma dedicated herself to a career in healthcare, touching countless lives with her unwavering commitment and love for her work. Her generosity extended far beyond her professionβ€”she was known for delivering home-cooked meals to those in need, often loading her car and making deliveries any day of the week. Family was Thelma’s greatest joy. She loved gathering loved ones around the table, especially during the holidays, and took pride in preparing meals that brought everyone together. Music was another passion; she believed in its healing power and delighted in live performances, particularly karaoke. Elvis Presley, Bob Seger, and Rod Stewart were among her favorite artists. Thelma is survived by her children: Alberta Clark, Jeffrey Winningham, and Shona Dennis; her grandchildren: Natasha Clark, Christopher Clark, Joe Reagan, Adriah Reagan, Nora Hubbardβ€”all of Crossvilleβ€”Dustin, Tabitha, and Zachary Rector of Indiana; Scott, Justin, and Matthew Winningham of Crossville; and Ryker Winningham of Washington. She also leaves behind 15 great-grandchildren and her sister, Linda Martin of Fort Worth, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Scott and Ada Threet; her husband, Forest Dean Winningham; her daughter, Beverly Winningham; and a host of brothers and sisters. Thelma’s legacy of compassion, generosity, and love for her family and community will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
