Funeral Services for Theresa Phipps, age 65, of Monterey, Tennessee, will be conducted on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 12:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Pastor Steve Looper will officiate with interment to follow in the Welch Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Phipps was born on Monday, August 31, 1959, in Monterey, Tennessee, to the late James “JB” and Margaret Lucille Bohannon Bartlett. Mrs. Phipps passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at her home. She started working full-time at the age of 16 at Ely Walker Shirt Factory. She worked at Oster and TRW where she became a Ballistic Technician upon receiving her medical business administration associates degree. She loved her grandkids more than anything in the world. She enjoyed shopping, fishing, and playing golf. She faithfully supported her husband in his ministry and never complained about his absence to family events. She was a member of Sand Springs Baptist Church and had a heart for Christ. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Rev. Tony Phipps of Monterey, TN; daughters and sons-in-law, Melanee and Albert Welch of Lebanon, TN, Kendra Benson of Algood, TN, Erin and Jerry Sherrill of Baxter, TN; grandchildren, Corey, Brad, Jarod, Bell, Christian, and Seth Welch, Faith, Callie, and Eli Benson, Abby and Jerry Sherrill; great grandchildren, Rylan and Lucas; and sister, Tina Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Lee Bartlett; and sister, Terry Winebarger.
