The Tennessee Department of Health confirmed a third pediatric influenza-related death in Tennessee on Tuesday.

Nationwide, six flu-associated pediatric deaths were reported during the second week of the new year — totaling 85 pediatric flu deaths so far this season. Two children were in the East Tennessee area and one was in Middle Tennessee.

The CDC recommends everyone over 6 months of age get the flu vaccine.
