THOMPSON FROM PICKETT COUNTY SERVES AS STATE SENATE PAGE
Twelfth grade student at Abeka Academy, Garrett M. Thompson, served as a page in the Tennessee State Senate Monday. Thompson lives in Byrdstown and was sponsored by State Senator Ken Yager.
“He’s won about every award you can win in the 4-H program and was the Pickett County delegate to the National Healthy Living Summit in Washington, D.C. He has a noble goal of completing his education at Tennessee Tech University and then serving his country in the Army,” said Senator Yager. “I am very proud to have such an ambitious and service-oriented young man as my page.”
Page duties consist of anything from making copies, running errands, to distributing legislative information to members of the General Assembly. They report to the Chief Clerk of House and Senate.
