TRAFFIC FATALITIES INCREASING IN TENNESSEE

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports traffic fatalities in Tennessee are increasing. Totals from the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security show a 7.3 percent increase through October 18 compared to the same time frame last year. There have been 887 traffic fatalities year-to-date compared to 826 in 2018, an increase of 61 deaths. Of those, there have been 112 pedestrian deaths, increasing from 2018’s 100 deaths.
