HARRIMAN, TN – VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System will host a Veterans Resource Fair, Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025, from 4 โ€“ 7 p.m. ET, at Roane State Community College-Dunbar Building located at 276 Patton Lane, in Harriman, Tennessee.

During the free event, Veterans can interact with VA services and programs like the PACT Act, Caregiver Support Program, Whole Health, and more. Eligible Veterans can enroll in VA health care and receive information about additional VA health care programs. Representatives from the Tennessee Department of Veterans Services will be available to answer questions regarding benefits claims. Starting at 5:15 p.m. ET, the resource fair will feature leadership remarks from VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System and Tennessee Department of Veterans Services. Free parking is available onsite. VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System is an integrated tertiary health care system comprised of two hospitals, the Alvin C. York Campus in Murfreesboro and the Nashville Campus, as well as more than a dozen community-based outpatient clinics located in Tennessee and Kentucky. TVHS provides ambulatory care, primary care, and secondary care in acute medicine and surgery, specialized tertiary care, transplant services, spinal cord injury outpatient care, and a full range of extended care and mental health services.

The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) is hosting a mobile household hazardous waste collection event in Cumberland County on Saturday, October 4, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cumberland County Community Complex, located at 1398 Livingston Road in Crossville.
This free service allows residents, including those from outside the county, to safely dispose of household hazardous items such as cleaning fluids, pesticides, and swimming pool chemicals. For inquiries, contact Conrad Welch at (931) 484-9328. Businesses, schools, farms, churches, and other non-household entities generating Very Small Quantity Generator Waste must pay a disposal fee and schedule an appointment by calling (615) 643-3170 for a price quote.

The Lake Tansi Exchange Club invites the community to experience a breathtaking tribute at the 4th Annual Crossville Field of Honorยฎ, taking place Saturday, November 8 through Saturday, November 15 at Garrison Park, 542 4th Street, Crossville, TN. This powerful and moving display is free to the public and open daily for all to walk among more than 700 American flags, each symbolizing service, sacrifice, and honor. Each flag in the Field of Honor represents a story – a tribute to veterans, living or deceased. Every flag will bear a customized placard with a heartfelt dedication, reminding us that freedom is not free and that America’s strength lies in its unity, symbolized by the Stars and Stripes. Flag Sponsorships Individuals can sponsor a flag for $35, with the option to take it home after the event or have it shipped. To sponsor a flag in honor of a loved one, contact Judi Hartman at (931) 337-5465. Business Sponsorships Corporate and community organizations are encouraged to support this impactful event through sponsorship packages.
