Motorists traveling on I-75 in Loudon County should be aware of upcoming bridge repair work that will have an impact on traffic. Starting tonight (May 7, 2021) at 8 p.m. eastern, the outside lanes of the interstate north and southbound will be closed at mile marker 83, less than two miles from the I-40/I-75 split. This will allow crews to make repairs on the bridge over State Route 1/Highway 70. These lane closures will be in place day and night until 6 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2021. This schedule is contingent on favorable weather conditions. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution in this area as workers will be present.
