TREE CUTTER RESCUED AFTER FALLING OFF BLUFF IN SEQUATCHIE COUNTY
Sequatchie County officials says a man is recovering with serious but non-life threatening injuries after a tree fell on him yesterday afternoon on Smith Mountain off of Windridge Lane. Authorities say two men were about 100 feet below the bluff cutting a tree. A gust of wind caused the tree to fall in an unexpected direction and strike one of them. The Dunlap Fire Department deployed their rope rescue team and established a haul system, and the victim was taken up to the top. He was taken to a landing zone at Ewtonville Baptist and flown by Life Force to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga for treatment.
