Trudy Pruitt Wages Wallace

The family of Trudy Pruitt Wages Wallace is sad to announce that Trudy passed away on September 27, 2024, after bravely battling Alzheimer’s Disease.

She leaves behind the following: son Darryl Wages and wife Lisa; daughter Gretchen Rowley and husband Dan; brother Al Pruitt and wife Evelyn; brother Irby Pruitt and wife Phyliss; sister Candy Pruitt; sister Vivian Oldknow; and many nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by: her husband Gary D. Wages; father Kendrick K. Pruitt; mother Agnes Pruitt; siblings Donald Pruitt, Ken (Sugarboy) Pruitt, and Shirley Pruitt Vass.

Trudy grew up in Hapeville, GA. When she married and started a family they lived in Clayton County. Trudy was a loving wife and mother who was a joy to be around. She was always positive and was driven to be the best she could be. She was blessed to teach in Clayton County at Tara Elementary, Anderson Elementary, and Red Oak Elementary in Henry County. Through her 30 years plus career in teaching she worked hard to continue her education and ultimately achieved her doctorate degree in 2006. She also was a member of the sorority Phi Gamma Sigma. Trudy retired in 2008 and was able to enjoy traveling, church, family, and friends. She was involved in the community of Hapeville as a member of the Service League and the Citizens Watch Program.

Trudy’s funeral will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Ford-Stewart Funeral Home (2047 Hwy 138 S.E. Jonesboro, GA 30236) The visitation will be from 12:30pm-1:30pm with a funeral service to start at 1:30pm. A graveside service will follow around 2:30pm at Forest Hills Memorial Garden (722 Conley Road Forest Park, GA 30297)
