A two-vehicle accident happened around noon on Tuesday at the intersection of Nelson Street and South Kingston Avenue in Rockwood. The police report indicates a 2010 Honda Accord driven by 64-year-old Betty L. Hinds of Rockwood pulled from the intersection onto Nelson Street in front of a 2021 Nissan Altima driven by 69-year-old Virginia D Spencer of Rockwood. Virginia Spencer was transported to the hospital to be checked out for injuries.  According to the report, Betty Hinds was charged with failure to yield the right of way.

There were no passengers mentioned in either vehicle. The roadway was blocked for about 45 minutes for the investigation and cleanup of the accident and both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
