VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON I-40 IN EASTERN PUTNAM COUNTY LEAVES ONE DEAD, ONE INJURED
A two vehicle accident in eastern Putnam County just after 3 a.m. this morning left one dead and one injured. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a 2020 Kia Sorento driven by 31-year-old Viram B. Dangar of Jersey City, New Jersey struck a guardrail at the 301 mile marker while heading west. The vehicle traveled over both lanes, across the median and into the eastbound lanes colliding with a 2013 Mack tractor-trailer operated by 41-year-old Tommy Ray Moser, Jr. of Jonesville, North Carolina. Dangar died from injuries sustained and a passenger in his vehicle, 30-year-old Harshang Jiyavia from Falls Church, Virginia, was hurt. Moser escaped injury in the crash. All three were restrained at the time of impact.
