Velma Louise Adcox, age 90 of Crossville, TN passed away early February 8th, 2026 at Cumberland Medical Center surrounded by family. Velma was born September 15,1935 in Crossville, TN. She was the daughter of Lizzie Rose Hughes and Doc Wright. She graduated from Crossville High School in 1953 and went on to marry and have five children. She retired as a secretary from Crossville Door in 2020. She loved spending time with her family, watching football and going to church. As she would say “I have been so blessed to have all these grandchildren that do so much for me. God has blessed me with beautiful children, grandchildren and sister and a long life to enjoy them”. She is survived by one son, Michael Adcox, two daughters: Karen Skinner and Patty (Mike) Smith, nine grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and one sister Josephine (Chester) Elmore. Velma was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, her loving husband of 60 years, Frank Adcox, two sons: Larry Adcox and Ricky Adcox, and one grandson, Matthew Easterly. The family had a private graveside memorial and will have a celebration of life at a future date.
