Funeral Services for Velma Miller, age 90, of Monterey, Tennessee, will be conducted on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Pastor Darrell Shaver and Pastor Ronnie Pierce will officiate with interment to follow in the Hanging Limb Cemetery. Mrs. Miller was born on Saturday, April 14, 1934, in the Banner Springs Community, to the late Least and Oakley Young Hicks. Mrs. Miller passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at NHC Healthcare of Sparta. Mrs. Miller worked with Indiana Glass Company and several garment factories. She was Wilson Elementary’s adopted grandmother, loved quilting, making flannel quilts, taking bus trips and traveling. She was a member of Monterey Worship Center/Night Light House of Prayer. She is survived by her children, Jack and Coni Miller of Mitchell, IN, Debbie Allred of Monterey, TN, Randy and Phyllis Miller of Monterey, TN, Rex and Lisa Miller of Monterey, TN; 10 grandchildren, Carrie Miller, Heather (Brian) Palk, Joseph Allred, Brittany (Dan) Jolliff, Kayla (Jeffery) Sparks, Keith (Cristy) Miller, TJ Miller, Sara (Josh) Hayes, Nathan Miller, and Daniel Miller; 23 great grandchildren; 4 great great granddaughters and 2 great great grandsons expected soon; siblings, Ann Davenport, Kay Hicks, James Hicks, Mitchell Hicks, and Sheila Shaver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin C. Miller; son, Scott Miller; grandson, Jason Miller; son-in-law, Mike Allred; and siblings, Betty Hembree, Rella Ramsey, Miller Hicks, Manis Hicks, Jerry Hicks, Johnny Hicks, Mintford Hicks, Irene Keggress, Kathy Atkinson, and Cleda Bonvillian.
