Virginia Irene Perkinson Davis, 96

Virginia Irene Perkinson Davis, age 96, of Decatur, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

Virginia dedicated many years of her life to her work as an Administrative Assistant at VEC, where she was known for her dedication and commitment. Her passion for music was evident as she shared her talents by teaching piano lessons to numerous students in the community and playing piano at the nursing home for church services. Additionally, Virginia was a devoted member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, where she played the organ for over 25 years, enriching the spiritual lives of many.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years: William Edward “Ed” Davis; son: Robert Edward “Bob” (Brenda S.) Davis; brothers; Daniel and John Perkinson.

She is survived by her grandchildren: Mike (Dale) Davis, Brad (Nikki) Davis, Jeremy (Angela) Davis, Jami (Danny) Vaughn; 7 great grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; other extended family and a host of friends.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., on Saturday, September 27, 2025, in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. Dale Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Mike Davis, Jeremy Davis, Brad Davis, Danny Vaughn, Robbie Davis, and Hunter Davis.

The family will receive friends from 1 – 3 p.m., prior to the service.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Decatur Wellness & Rehabilitation for their compassionate care during Virginia’s final years.
