VOLS NET 17TH STRAIGHT WIN, BEATING MISSOURI 72-60

The number one-ranked Tennessee Volunteers beat Missouri last night 72-60 to extend their winning streak to 17 games, and their overall record to 21-1. The Vols are 9-0 in SEC play.

This constitutes the longest active win streak of any Division I team.

Admiral Schofield and Grant Williams each scored 13 points. Jordan Bowden contributed 12 points and Jordan Bone had 11 points and seven assists.

This was the fourth loss in five games for Missouri, whose record now stands at 11-10.

Tuesday’s game also marked the return of Missouri coach Cuonzo Martin to Thompson-Boling Arena. From 2011 to 2014, Martin coached Tennessee to a record of 63-41.

Ahead of the opening tip, this message appeared on the video board: “Thank You Cuonzo: Welcome Back to Rocky Top.”
