Walter Ray Cole, age 82, of Crossville, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023.

Walter was born December 23, 1940, in Camden, Tennessee to Walter Finus and Pearl Abbott Cole. Walter served in the United States Army from 1964-1966 where he was stationed at Ft. McClellan Chemical Center. After his time in the military, Walter enjoyed a 28-year career teaching for Cumberland County Schools.

Walter was preceded in death by his wife: Sharon Cole; mother: Pearl Abbott Cole; father: Walter Finus Cole; brother and sister-in-law: Melvin and Juanita Cole; sister and brother-in-law: Melba and Floyd Hutcherson; and brother: Charles Cole.

He is survived by his son: Travis Cole (Brooke); grandchildren: Lexis, Randall, and Kayelyn; and his nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 1 p.m. with burial to follow at Lantana Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. before the service.

Instead of flowers, the family requests donations be made to help cover funeral expenses.
