WATER PARK BUDGETED FOR COOKEVILLE, TN

COOKEVILLE, TN– On Thursday night’s Council meeting, Mayor Ricky Shelton proposed the motion to amend next year’s budget to include the bond issue amount that will buy land and build a waterpark for Cookeville, TN. The proposal passed and the water park/aquatic facility has been budgeted.
Shelton says he hopes to have a First Class Water Park that is affordable and suitable for all ages and abilities. He states that this will not require a property tax increase.
“Please understand that this does not guarantee that this will be built. It has formally started the process and put in motion the steps necessary to proceed,” Shelton says, ” It will be up to the next Council to issue the bonds and start construction.”
