WATSON INDICTED FOR MURDER AND RAPE OF CORRECTIONS ADMINISTRATOR

An inmate has been indicted on 15 counts including  first-degree murder, aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping and rape of a Tennessee Department of Corrections Administrator Debra Johnson. Authorities say Curtis Watson was on lawn care duties at West Tennessee State Penitentiary near Henning in August 2019. Investigators say Watson sexually assaulted and killed corrections administrator Johnson at her home on prison grounds. He then managed to escape the prison. He was found four days later after an intense manhunt. An arraignment will be set soon for Watson.
