WATTS BAR, DALE HOLLOW AND CENTER HILL FISHING REPORT – DEC. 11, 2020
WATTS BAR
Reservoir Conditions: The lake is at winter pool. The water temperature is in the 40’s and 50’s depending on the ambient temperature.
Crappie: Most crappie are being caught around deeper docks or blowdowns in the creeks.
Several crappie are being caught in the slow water near Ft. Loudoun Dam. Use minnows or jigs. A lot of crappie are being caught.
Bass: Fish the “Rig” around points and steeper banks. Swimbaits and crankbaits are being used. Some anglers are reporting good catches while other anglers struggle.
Catfish: Fishing is good. Drift the main channel with natural baits.
Bluegill: Fish around docks and rock bluffs. Use worms or crickets for bait. Fishing is good.
Striped Bass: Swimbaits, spoons, the “Rig”, and shad are being used for bait. The mid lake has the greater number of stripers now.
Walleye: Some fish are being caught along the bottom in the upper river. Use jigs, spoons or shad for bait.
Shellcracker: Use worms or small jigs in the sloughs below Ft. Loudoun Dam.
DALE HOLLOW
Reservoir Conditions: Fishing is fair. The water temperature is 54 degrees and the lake is falling.
Smallmouth Bass: Several smallmouth are being caught on swimbaits in 20 feet of water on deep sloping points.
Largemouth Bass: A few largemouth are being caught under minnows while jigging spoons in 25 feet of water in the creeks.
Crappie: A few crappie are begin caught on minnows while fishing sunken brush in 20 feet of water in the rivers.
CENTER HILL
Reservoir Conditions: Fishing is fair. The water temperature is 57 degrees and the lake is falling.
Smallmouth Bass: Several smallmouth are being caught on crankbaits on channel banks in 10 feet of water.
Largemouth Bass: A few largemouth and Kentucky’s are being caught while jigging spoons under schooling shad in the creeks in 25 feet of water.
Crappie: A few crappie are being caught under docks on minnows in 15 feet of water.
