WATTS BAR, DALE HOLLOW AND CENTER HILL FISHING REPORT – JUNE 4, 2020

WATTS BAR
Reservoir Conditions: The lake is slightly above normal elevation. The water temperature is 72 degrees.
Crappie: Minnows or jigs are used by anglers to catch fish. Crappie are being caught at all depths. Most crappie are moving out into deeper water. Fish secondary water. These anglers usually use minnows rigged with a weight to get down to deeper depth. Docks, blowdowns, or submerged brush are the other areas anglers are fishing and jigs are usually the bait of choice.
Bass: Some anglers are catching fish around docks while using jigs or floating worms. These docks are in deeper secondary water. Some anglers are catching fish in offshore secondary areas while using crankbaits, jigs, and plastic worms.
Catfish: Drift the main lake with a variety of meaty baits. Shad, bluegill, or shrimp are examples of meaty baits being used. Plenty of fish are being caught in the Tennessee, Emory, and Clinch Rivers. Current is helpful increasing the bits.
Bluegill/Shellcracker: Many fish are spawning. Look for shallow isolated water. Worms or crickets are the better baits.
Striped Bass: The upper Clinch and Tennessee Rivers are good. Shad is the best bait. Swimbaits are also being used.
Walleye: Fish are being caught by anglers trolling crankbaits in the upper river and tailwater. Night fishing seems to be better. Some night fishing is occurring from the bank. Fish jigs, crankbaits, and spinner-type lures from the bank.
DALE HOLLOW
Reservoir Conditions: Fishing is good. The water temperature is 75 degrees and the lake is stable.
Smallmouth Bass: Lots of smallmouth are being caught at night on spinnerbaits, jigs, and soft plastics while fishing points and grass in 5-15 feet of water.
Largemouth Bass: Several largemouth are being caught while fishing at night using soft plastics in grass in 5-10 feet of water.
Bluegill/Shellcracker: Several panfish are being caught while fishing nightcrawlers and crickets on gravel banks and around grass in 5-10 feet of water.
Walleye: Several walleye are being caught at night while trolling stick baits in 5-15 feet of water near grass and channel banks.
CENTER HILL
Reservoir Conditions: Fishing is good. The water temperature is 77 degrees and the lake is stable.
Bass: Several are being caught at night on soft plastics and spinnerbaits while fishing 5-10 feet of water around cover.
Walleye: A few walleye are being caught near Sligo while trolling nightcrawlers in 15 feet of water.
Bluegill/Shellcracker: A few panfish are being caught on crickets and nightcrawlers while fishing gravel banks in 10 feet of water.
