Wayne Thomas Duncan
September 3, 1971 – January 11, 2026
Wayne Thomas Duncan, 54, of Clinton, Tennessee joined our Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
Wayne was born on September 3, 1971, in Knoxville, Tennessee to William Duncan and Paulette Brock. Wayne was a graduate of Clinton High School, class of 1989, in which he was an athlete of the Clinton Dragons basketball team. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Airforce and proudly served for 8 years, attaining a rank of Sergeant, where he was a veteran of Operation Desert Storm. Later he enlisted in the United States Army Reserve in the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment as he honorably served his country for 4 years with the rank of a Specialist, including deployment during Operation Iraqi Freedom. After his military career, Wayne built a long and dedicated civilian career, working for the City of Oak Ridge before continuing his career with the United States Postal Service. In 1997, Wayne met Elizabeth Duncan, whom he married in 2009. Together they shared 16 years of marriage and built a loving blended family that included 5 children, 4 grandchildren, and another grandchild on the way.
Wayne was as patriotic as they come, and extremely proud to be an American. Playing basketball was a hobby that Wayne enjoyed from an early age. Singing was a true passion of his, and his beautiful voice had a way of lighting up a room and bringing smiles to faces and tears to the eyes of those who heard the melodies he loved to sing. During football and basketball season, you would find Wayne supporting and cheering on the Clinton Dragons, Tennessee Volunteers, Tennessee Titans, and the basketball team that LeBron James was currently playing for. Anytime anyone was around, you knew that Wayne would have a plethora of jokes to share and keep everyone laughing with his unique sense of humor and constant use of emojis. Spending time with his children and loved ones was his favorite way to spend his spare time.
Wayne was preceded by father, William “Bill” Duncan; mother-in-law, Nancy Henderson; paternal grandparents, Herbert and Rose Cleveland, and maternal grandparents, John and Zadie Stout; sisters: Janna Fager, Shannon Duncan, Angela Richardson, LeeAnn Edwards, and Rachael Duncan.
