WHITE COUNTY MAN ARRESTED AFTER REPORTEDLY STABBING MALE MULTIPLE TIMES
Police arrested a White County man in Knoxville after repeatedly stabbing another man.
Officers responded to Knox Area Rescue Ministries at 418 North Broadway. They found a man lying inside the building’s front door. A security officer said the victim had been banging on the front door, claiming he was injured.
Medics noted six stab wounds, mainly in the shoulder, back and neck.
The victim reportedly told police he had been walking under a nearby bridge when someone stabbed him and stole his phone.
He was transported to U.T. Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
Police later learned that 33-year-old Ajani Toure Michael of Sparta was the alleged assailant.
Michael was taken into custody and charged with especially aggravated robbery.
