WOMAN JUMPS OFF I-40 BRIDGE IN MADISON COUNTY, TENNESSEE WHILE HOLDING CHILD

TBI REVEALS SUSPECT IN OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTING IN RUTHERFORD COUNTY

Madison County, Tennessee authorities say a 24-year-old woman jumped from a bridge onto I-40 while holding a child. Deputies responded yesterday to a vehicle crash at a Shell gas station on Law Road. When deputies were headed that way, dispatch received several more calls reporting a female driver tried to hit a gas pump at the Shell station, then got out of the car with a small child. They began walking toward the I-40 exit 93 overpass, then disappeared. Minutes later, a call came in from a truck driver stating a large object fell from the bridge and hit his truck while he was traveling westbound at the scene. Officers found the two deceased on the roadway when they arrived. The woman was identified as 24-year-old Tonisha Lashay Barker. The identity and age of the child have not been released.
