Zella Mae Patefield Bacon of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, was born March 25, 1930, to Arthur James & Emma (Parrell) West in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. She departed from this world on February 12, 2025 at the age of 94.

Zella was a loving wife and mother who dedicated her life to the success and well-being of her husbands and children. She was known among her many friends for her love of gardening, card playing, and travel.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph Bacon of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney & Nancy Patefield of Summerfield, North Carolina, Dr. A.J. & Christine Patefield of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Richard & Terri Patefield of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, her son-in law, Edward Haugen of Hayward, Wisconsin, and 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emma and Arthur West, her husband, Jerome Patefield, her daughter, Patti Patefield Haugen, her brother Jay West, and sisters Ailene (West) McComb and Dorothy (West) Mitchell.

Ms. Patefield Bacon will be interred at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin on June 2, 2025.

A Memorial service will take place on April 9, 2025 at Good Samaritan Society – Fairfield Glade at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Good Samaritan Society in honor of Ms. Zella.
