Putnam County authorities say a 12-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle yesterday in Cookeville.

Officers stated a 2019 Ford F-150 operated by 76-year-old Daryhl Murphy was heading southbound on Old Kentucky Road.

The juvenile attempted to cross Old Kentucky Road at Raider Drive when the accident happened.

Medics airlifted the victim to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

Authorities did not initially release any further information.
