15-YEAR-OLD MEIGS COUNTY GIRL CHARGED WITH MURDER

In Meigs County, a 15-year-old girl has been charged with first-degree murder for allegedly shooting and killing Richard High with a .22 caliber rifle at a home on Gunstocker Road in Georgetown. The incident occurred on Tuesday morning, and authorities found High dead from a single gunshot wound.
No other individuals in the home were injured. The relationship between the suspect and the victim has not been disclosed.
The teenager, whose identity is withheld, is scheduled for a closed juvenile detention hearing on Thursday afternoon. Neighbors reported the family kept to themselves and were unaware of the incident until seeing law enforcement vehicles.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is now handling the case, as confirmed by Meigs County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Brian Malone.
