Sheriff Farris is saddened to announce as to what is believed to be the body of the missing juvenile Olivia Daryl Taylor found in the early afternoon hours on Thursday (October 27, 2022). The body was initially located in a wooded area East of Cookeville in Putnam County by Putnam County Road Department employees. Even though it is very early in the initial stages of the investigation Sheriff Farris said that the investigation is clearly being worked as a homicide. Sheriff’s investigators had worked throughout the night trying to locate Taylor since she had been reported missing.
There has been one arrest in the investigation thus far. Charles “Chuck” Carter was arrested and charged last night with Aggravated Statutory Rape in regard to the missing juvenile, Olivia Daryl Taylor and is being held at the Putnam County Jail on a $50,000 bond. Now, Carter is also a suspect in the death investigation regarding Taylor. The body will be sent for an autopsy at the medical examiner’s office in Nashville.
