175,000 TORCH LIGHTERS RECALLED FOR FAILURE TO MEET SAFETY STANDARDS

On October 9, 2025, Calico Brands announced a recall of approximately 175,000 Scripto® Premium Torch lighters due to their failure to meet mandatory safety standards for multipurpose lighters, posing serious fire and burn hazards to consumers.
The recalled torches feature a four-position adjustable metal nozzle, adjustable flame, hands-free operation lock, black ergonomic non-slip rubber grip, and a metal base with black velvet on the bottom, with the UPC number “0-70257-52226-6” printed on the product box.
Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the torches and return them to retailers like Walmart or Home Depot, where they were sold nationwide and online from November 2024 to August 2025 for about $15, for a full refund or store credit.
Alternatively, consumers can contact Calico Brands at 800-544-4837, via email at [email protected], or through their website at www.calicobrands.com/premiumtorchrecall.html to receive a shipping label and hazmat packaging for a free return and full refund. No incidents or injuries have been reported.
The torches were manufactured in China and imported by Calico Brands of Ontario, California, under recall number 26-006.
